Vata Balancing Blend

 This Middle-eastern inspired blend is a grounding, cozy mix to calm restlessness and take the edge off the cold. 

Ingredients: cinnamon, cumin, coriander, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, ginger

Suggested uses: 

  • Sprinkle over roasted carrots, beets, or winter squash with a drizzle of ghee. 

  • Stir into warm rolled oats with banana, toasted almonds, and a pat of ghee. 

  • Simmer into a mung dal or lentil soup with carrots and leeks for lunch. 

  • Use in a lamb or chicken stew with sweet potato, carrot, and squash over basmati rice.

Pitta Balancing Blend

This Moroccan-inspired mix provides a cooling, aromatic blend to soothe heat and ease irritability.

Ingredients: cumin, coriander, fennel, mint, cardamom, rose, ginger, clove

Suggested uses: 

  • Sprinkle over roasted sweet potato or zucchini.

  • Stir into rolled oats or couscous porridge with pear and a touch of ghee.

  • Toss with cucumber, mint, and pomegranate over cold couscous for a bright lunch salad.

  • Simmer into a chicken or chickpea tagine with sweet potato and cauliflower.

Kapha Balancing Blend

This classical Indian masala is a warming, energizing blend to cut through 

heaviness and sluggishness.

Ingredients: cumin, pippali, black pepper, mustard seed, ginger, fenugreek, turmeric

Suggested uses: 

  • Sprinkle on roasted cauliflower or brussels sprouts.

  • Stir into a breakfast bowl of masoor dal with quinoa or millet and a squeeze of lemon.

  • Sauté with cabbage, leeks, and chickpeas for a light lunch.

  • Use as the base for a dal or chicken breast curry with cauliflower and turnip over basmati rice.

Madhura (Sweet) Blend

A naturally sweet, warming blend to help satisfy a sweet tooth without the sugar.

Ingredients: cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, nutmeg

Suggested uses: 

  • Sprinkle over baked or roasted apples and pears in place of added sugar.

  • Stir into warm oatmeal, rice pudding, or a smoothie for breakfast.

  • Whisk into warm milk for a naturally sweet, chai-like afternoon treat.

  • Fold into muffin, quick bread, or granola batter to cut back on added sugar.

Sattvic Blend

 A gentle, tridoshic blend suited to any constitution, any day.

Ingredients: turmeric, cumin, coriander, fennel, saffron, ajwain

Suggested uses: 

  • Sprinkle over steamed vegetables or plain rice (or even popcorn with a little ghee!)

  • Use as the seasoning base for a simple kitchari (mung dal and rice), a light, easy-to-digest meal.

  • Stir into a light vegetable soup for lunch.

  • Use as an everyday seasoning for a simple vegetable, rice, or fish dinner when you want something gentle rather than heavy.
